NEW WEB DESIGN

You might have noticed already ... Yes, I have a new web design - again! I guess I will never get tired of redesigning my page/blog and that's OK. Although I offer a basic blog design, I can spend HOURS on changing bits and pieces on my own blog, reading tutorials, playing with the code, trying new things... And it took me really long this time! I didn't count the hours but I know I was going to bed very late three days in a row. And I can't really sleep in, because every morning there is a hungry cat meowing at my bed, begging for food. 

But it's done and I'm happy with how it looks like! What do you think?

PS: I would really love to be more organized with blogging, too, and post regularly, like every Tuesday and Saturday afternoon... let's see how long this one lasts :-) Happy Sunday!

Hello new Canon 1200D !

This is the photo I've posted on my instagram few days ago. It might not be a super professional camera but what a difference compared to my small pocket camera I was using until now!

I'm so excited! And I have two reasons:

1. I have a new camera :D

2. I was able to buy it thanx to my little business and what I saved up from it! YAY!!!

Here are some shots I've made. I can't wait to go and photograph outdoors, but also the new products for my shop :) Coming by the end of January!

 

latest projects

I really struggle with blogging these days. I've been up to many new projects and things and the design inquieries were rolling in... long story short, I've been busy. And it's even worse - between a phone call, hug and cuddle to my kitty, then bunny, then a skype call from my little brother, then a coffee, facebook check... 

Well, ok... here's at least a sum up of some latest projects I'd like to share with you (written in language that has to do with what I'm writting about) :)

back on blogger!

It feels like being home again! :D

So, after about a year on wordpress I've decided to move back to blogger. I know many people are doing the opposite - moving to Wordpress from blogger (just as I did) but I guess I just prefer Blogger. It feels more .... friendly! I feel more comfortable with the html and CSS here on Blogger, most of my crafty friends are on Blogger, plus I was super happy to find this tutorial about how to export all the posts from WP to blogger... so here I am again! :)

And I also have a little tutorial I've made for Papero Amo: homemade wrapping paper. Now I know you've seen plenty of ideas and tutorials about that, so let's say that this is just my take on it :)

You'll need stamps (I've used my own stamps LuciaBarabas, Elle's Studio Stamp, KAISERCRAFT's Hummingbird, Cosmo Cricket's cling stamps and Papero Amo feather stamp) and paper - any kind of paper. Mine is a craft paper, office paper and tissue paper.

Soooo let's start with... the first great news that is: I will be on a Stuck?!Sketches design team !!!

I am SO happy to be able to create for this awesome canadianblog run by Laura Whitaker, and joining all the talented scrapbookers from all over the world that are already on the team!

Dnešný deň = samé dobré správy! 

Začnem úplnou novinkou - a tou je, že od 1. novembra budem súčasťou design teamu kanadského blogu Stuck?!Sketches !!! Veľmi, naozaj VEĽMIIII sa teším, že budem môcť tvoriť pre ďalší skvelý tím, ktorý je u scrapperiek obľúbený - o čom svedčí aj počet súťažných layoutov pri každej súťaži :) 

Je to blog venovaný tvoreniu podľa sketchov (šablón). Dvakrát za mesiac - na začiatku a v strede - je k dispozícii nový sketch, podľa ktorého je potrebné vytvoriť stránku. Tú potom nahráte k príslušnej súťaži a pri žrebovaní môžete vyhrať naozaj skvelé ceny, ako napr. poukážky na nákup alebo materiál na tvorenie od svetoznámych scrapbookerských značiek.

Tu nájdete dnešné predstavenie nových členiek tímu a 1. novembra si nenechajte ujsť "prehliadku" našich prvých výtvorov pre Stuck?!Sketches ;)

Ok! Druhá dobrá správa je, že na svete je tretie číslo austrálskeho magazínu Life.Paper.Scrapbook!

Ako každá členka design teamu, aj ja mám svoju vlastnú dvojstránku ;) s layoutmi - na str. 26-27. A tentokrát dokonca ešte ďalšiu - "Mini garden" na strane 64! :D

Dievčatá, tento magazín je fakt skvelý. Má cez 150 strán nabitých inšpiráciou. Layouty a iné projekty od scrapperiek z celého sveta, stránky plné farieb... je to pastva pre oči a keď si ho dopozeráte, budete chcieť hneď začať tvoriť! :D

Link naň nájdete vyššie, stačí kliknúť na obrázok, (pripraviť si šálku kávy alebo čaju) a ďalšími klikmi už len listujete. :)

hello&welcome!

Welcome to my new page and blog! I'm really happy to finally have ONE and only place to share my news, work and everything else with you! And I'm really, but REALLY happy that I finally like the way my page looks like! I guess that was the hardest part of the whole process ;)

I worked hard these past three months and designed lots of patterns, launched my first paper collection with cards, notebooks and bookmarks and I'm currently working on (not only wedding) invitations. Yeah, my summer is full of work! But I love it. ♥

Sooo I hope you like it here and that I'll see you around more often! Lots of new stuff, patterns and scrapbooking to come! ;)

 

Vitajte na mojej novej stránke a blogu! Som rada, že som sa konečne dopracovala jej finálnej podobe, s ktorou som aj spokojná. Neskutočné! :D 

Posledné tri mesiace som pracovala na nových návrhoch motívov, na novej papierovej kolekcii pohľadníc, zápisníkov a záložiek a teraz chystám návrhy oznámení a pozvánok. Úplne pracovné leto. Ale keďže robím, čo ma baví, nesťažujem sa :)

Rada by som na tejto stránke zdieľala nielen všetko, čo sa týka scrapbooku, ale aj návrhy motívov, ku ktorým som sa konečne dopracovala po absolvovaní kurzu Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design. Ale o tom možno inokedy:)

Tak, dúfam, že aj vám sa nová stránka aspoň trochu páči a že tu zablúdite aj častejšie ;)

o scrapperovi

Ak ste náhodou čítali tento príspevok, tak už viete, že cesta, ktorou sa uberám, zasa trochu zmenila smer. A ak ste ho nečítali, tak je zhruba o tomto: 

Napriek tomu, že NEZNÁŠAM robiť rozhodnutia, nedávno som jedno veľké spravila: v mojom kreatívnom svete sa už nejaký čas čím ďalej tým viac venujem navrhovaniu vzorov a potlačí, alebo v origináli "surface pattern design-u". Krásne vzory mi učarovali už dávnejšie a keď som zistila, že venovať sa ich navrhovaniu môže byť aj naozajstný job, prihlásila som sa na online kurz "Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design". Nevedela som sa dočkať, kedy po jeho absolvovaní odštartujem moju oslnivú kariéru :D No odradil ma fakt, že na Slovensku také niečo neexistuje - v podstate "návrhárka vzorov a potlačí" je len môj voľný preklad... (ak niekto z vás o tom vie niečo viac, tak píšte!!!) 

Začala som sa tak venovať tisícim iným činnostiam, najmä scrapbookingu, aby som nakoniec prišla na to, že sa chcem vrátiť práve k dizajnu vzorov! Momentálne naháňam inšpiráciu, kreslím, maľujem, pracujem na svojom portfóliu a web stránke, učím sa pracovať v Illustratori. Medzitým sa snažím aj jesť, spať, čítať a občas aj vyčisť klietku Cookiemu (moja zajačica) :D 

Tak mám však aj stále menej času na scrappera - a o tom som vlastne chcela aj písať... Bohužiaľ sa už stránke nemôžem venovať naplno - tak, ako by som chcela a ako som si to predstavovala, keď som ju zakladala. Chcela by som preto osloviť vás, všetky scrapbookové duše, možno najmä tie, ktoré majú v pláne venovať sa scrapbookingu trochu viac ako len hobby - možno začať nový e-shop - a ponúknuť stránku na predaj. (v prípade záujmu píšte na luciabarabas@yahoo.it)

Ďakujem všetkým, ktorí mi od začiatku fandili, pomáhali o stránke dávať vedieť, bratovi Jakubovi za technickú pomoc pri jej vytváraní  (ktorý sa mi pomstí za to, že som tu dala link na jeho blog :D ) a chcem sa veľmi poďakovať dievčatám z design teamu za to, že písali články s návodmi a delili sa tak s vami o nápady a tipy.

Práca na tejto stránke mi síce zabrala veľa času, ale veľa som sa aj naučila a spoznala tak nových (kreatívnych a milých) dievčat, za čo som vďačná :)

So scrapbookingom určite nekončím, je to moje naj hobby a tu na mojom blogu sa určite objaví veľa ďalších príspevkov s novými scrap projektami - a veľmi rada by som sa jedného dňa dostala k navrhnutiu nových pečiatok :)

Začiatkom augusta plánujem aj ďalšiu giveaway - tak sa nezabudnite zastaviť ;)

my scrapbooking lovebrand ♥

Hi! I'm so excited to announce that today, 5 March 2013 I have launched my own scrapbooking lovebrand! I was working on it during the past few months and am really excited to tell you, that my little shop with clear stamps, journaling tags and fabric embelishments is now OPEN:) 

It was always my dream to create my own brand, to do something creative and to launch my own business. After several attempts (like e-shop with scrapbooking goodies, designing patterns and a lot more) I really do hope this time it is something that will last! Wish me luck :D 

(as the clear stamps and a part of journaling tags contain words in slovak, they are available only in my e-shop in slovak but I'm considering uploading the rest of journaling tags and fabric flowers and buttons on etsy)

Vždy bolo mojím snom vytvoriť vlastnú značku, robiť niečo kreatívne a mať svoj vlastný biznis. Po mnohých pokusoch, ako napr. e-shop s materiálom na scrapbooking, snahe stať sa dizajnérkou vzorov a potlačí a veľa ďalších, som sa rozhodla vytvoriť vlastnú značku materiálu na scrapbooking. 

Po mesiacoch plánovania, navrhovania a tvorenia je môj obchodík je od 5.marca OTVORENÝ! Dúfam, že tentokrát to nebude zas len chvíľková záležitosť :D keďže ma často po čase nadchne niečo nové!

V obchodíku nájdete okrem produktov Whisker Graphics aj tie moje: silikónové razítka so slovenskými nápismi, kartičky na journaling a textilné ozdoby ako buttonky či kvietky.

Hello lovelies! I'm so excited and I feel happy and honoured while writting this blog post! Because I have two great news to announce! Since February 2013 I am a DT member of two new and amazing scrapbooking blogs! 

Life. Paper. Scrapbook is an Australian quarterly, online publication that is dedicated to showcasing designers from all around the world to inspire each other, explore current trends and techniques and most importantly to celebrate our love of scrapbooking and paper crafts. Check-out their brand new blog, there's so much to come! 

Papero Amo is also a brand new czech blog focusing on creating custom albums, promoting scrapbooking and selling scrapbooking supplies. Their site is full of happy colors, just lovely!

Can't wait to start designing for them! And as I don't like blog posts without a picture, here's a layout I made for "Thursday Sketch" on Elle's Studio's blog. I LOVE Elle's Studio! :)

cookie the bunny!

I realized I didn't introduce you my sweet birthday gift - little bunny I named Cookie!♥ He is SO cute! Each time I hug him I have to be careful not to smash him! He is just so CUTE, FUNNY and HYPERACTIVE! He is incredible! When he starts to jump, it seems he is having some kind of electric shocks and when he wants to lay down to rest, he just throw himself against the floor! First time I saw him doing it I thought he was dead!! :D I also made a short video, you can watch it here. :)

Moje narodeniny boli síce už pred pár týždňami, ale stále som vám nepredstavila môj milý narodeninový darček... malého zajka, ktorého som nazvala Cookie :) Je taký chutný, že zakaždým, keď ho držím, musím dávať pozor, aby som ho nerozpučila :D Okrem toho, že je zlatý, je aj hyperaktívny! Vážne, takého zajaca som ešte nevidela - keď začne skákať, vyzerá, ako keby ho kopala elektrina :D a keď si chce zas ľahnúť, celý sa hodí o zem :D Keď to spravil prvýkrát, myslela som si, že je po ňom :D Tu je aj krátke video, môj malý mucko!

exciting news!

This is my exciting news I couldn't wait to share with you: 

I have my very own clear stamp set! :)

Oh yeah! :D I got this idea quite some time ago. As scrapbooking is not very well known in my country - yet! - I was thinking about designing a clear stamp set with some words in slovak. And then a dream came true. I recieved a package after Christmas and was overflowed by joy while photographing them, writing promotional articles etc. The set is called "Priania" that means "Wishes" and contains 20 clear stamps with words you can combine to get sentiments like "happy birthday" or "merry christmas". And as I'm writting this, there are already some of them travelling to their future owners ;)

Na písanie tohto článku som sa tešila už dosť dlho :) Ak ste na Sashe alebo sledujete scrapper.sk, tak ste už o nich určite počuli, no nemôžem o nich nenapísať na môj blog. Je to určite jeden z mojich splnených snov a lepší štart do nového roku - čo sa týka môjho tvorivého sveta - som si ani nemohla želať :) Sada obsahuje 20 priehľadných silikónových pečiatok so slovenskými nápismi.Hodia sa najmä na cardmaking - výrobu pohľadníc. Potrebujete k nim pečiatkovaciu podušku a akrylový blok. Naň sa pečiatka nalepí a môžete pečiatkovať. Slová sa dajú navzájom kombinovať a vytvárať rôzne priania. Sú vhodné aj na scrapbooking, obsahujú aj slová ako "spomienky, chvíle, prázdniny..." a tiež obrázky. Ak radi tvoríte, táto sada sa vám určite zíde ;) 

Stále zostáva zopár kúskov za uvádzaciu cenu: 10,49 eur v mojom SAShE obchodíku (vypredané).

Potom sa budú predávať za pôvodnú cenu 11,99 eur v mojom obchodíku s materiálom na scrapbooking.

TWO exciting news!!!

HI!

I have TWO really exciting news to share today!!!

1. I have finally launched my very own web page about scrapbooking! It is in slovak, as the aim of the page is to promote scrapbooking in Slovakia. I worked really hard on it and there is still lots of things to add and improve, but IT'S ON!

Slovenská stránka o scrapbookingu už funguje! Určite sa mrknite, dúfam, že sa vám bude páčiť! Stále je čo vylepšovať a pridávať, ale základ je hotový a je tu! Čakajú tam na vás súťaže, novinky, návody, tipy a triky, veľa informácii a inšpirácie, ale tiež by som z tejto stránky chcela spraviť miesto, kde sa môžme aj spoznávať, podeliť sa o svoje vytvorené práce a surfovať na našich blogoch a objavovať tak práce, nápady a životy druhých :-)

2. AND! The other SUPER exciting news is that:

I AM ON A CREATIVE SCRAPPERS DESIGN TEAM!!!!

I still can't believe it!!! MY FIRST DESIGN TEAM EVER and it is such a GREAT blog! Ooooh, check-it out! :-D

Druhá novinka je taká novinka, ktorej ešte sama stále nemôžem uveriť :D Dostala som sa do Design Teamu kanadského sketch-blogu CREATIVE SCRAPPERS !!!!!!!!! Páááááni vôbec neviem, ako by som napísala ako veľmi sa teším! :D Aha, tu je to čierne na bielom :) Ich blog je super,určite si ho pozrite ;-)

Hope I'll be able to create some beautiful layouts for them, using their great sketches :)

Back with some new (and big) projects!

I'm back on blogger and I'm back in my country. And I'm so ready to scrapbook and craft again!!! 

AND I moved to my new (and really tiny :-) ) appartment that I love to decorate, AND ... oh yeah, I have some new project to start! I got this idea quite a few time ago, but didn't really consider doing it - as I didn't have enough courage and the idea wasn't really clear, but then I've told myself: WHY NOT?! And what am I talking about? :-) Well, when I discovered scrapbooking and cardmaking about one year ago, it was great to learn about it always more and more. And logically I wanted to find some kind of a community or a web page dedicated to scrapbooking in my country as well. And after a really long time of googling I had to admit that I didn't find what I was looking for. SO! I've decided to start some really fancy and active blog and web page in Slovakia! I know I'm gonna need lots of courage, time, inspiration and I don't even know what else :D but I'm SO excited about that!!! I will definitely post more and share with you the latest news about how it is going :) And now - back to WORK :-)

Som späť - a to nielen na blogu, ale aj doma na Slovensku :-) Okrem zariaďovania môjho nového bytíka mám však aj plné ruky práce s mojím novým projektom. Aj keď sa musím priznať, že chvíle nadšenia z neho striedajú aj chvíľky obáv a strachu - či sa do takého niečoho vôbec mám púšťať... Ale nakoniec som sa rozhodla, že prečo nie! A o čo vlastne ide? :-) Rozhodla som sa začať na Slovensku niečo, čo som ako začínajúca scrapbookerka dlho hľadala - stránku s blogom o scrapbookingu. Mojim snom je vytvoriť aktívnu komunitu dievčat zo Slovenska, príp. Česka, ktorým scrapbooking učaroval tak ako mne a kde by sme si mohli vymieňať skúsenosti a obrázky našich výtvorov. Zatiaľ je to len nápad, ale už sa naozaj teším na všetky nové výzvy, ktoré prinesie :-)

Off for August

I'm going back to Rome in August, and as it is only for one month, I'm not going to bring all my krafty stuff for scrapbooking, snif! I will miss it!!! So I'm going to take another break from blogging and I will see you in September :-) And I had to put some pictures (i don't like posts without photos and color), so here are some cards and cookbooks I made recently, using a sewing machine (I totally fell in love with sewing the paper!)  :-)

Moje putovanie pokračuje a v auguste budem zasa mimo domu, vraciam sa ešte na mesiac do Ríma. Zatiaľ sa teda musím rozlúčiť so scrapbookingom, ale už sa teším na tvorenie v septembri! A ešte sa chcem podeliť so zábermi zopár pohľadníc a kuchárskych zápisníkov, ktoré som vytvorila nedávno. Konečne som sa dostala k šijaciemu stroju a ten sa za pár dní stal jedným z mojiich najobľúbenejších nástrojov na scrapbooking :-)

News, mini album and a letter set tutorial sneak peek

I really didn't have much time to blog in these past weeks. I've started Module 2 of the Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design in the end of June and I had to pack ALL my stuff as I was moving back to Slovakia! I had to say arrivederci to my dear Roma and headed back to my home town. Why? Well, I thought it was time to take my life into my hands and start doing what I REALLY want to do in my life. 

So now I'm back home, I'm working on my Surface Pattern Design courses, drawing and designing a lot and trying to go deeper into this amazing world of Surface Pattern Design (and hopefully I'll find a job in this area one day).

But I want to do a lot of scrapbooking as well, I got three new packages with lots of new material and I can't wait to craft and finally use also a sewing machine :-)

My blog needs more care!

I've been just SO busy the past days! I'm working a lot (hotel reception, laundry AND babysitting) and I have almost no free time! Sometimes I wake up at six and go to sleep at midnight... :-|  No more scrapbooking and lots of catching up with the lessons from ABSPD (Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design)... It sounds really bad, BUT! I have a PLAN! :-D

I will save some money and when I go back to Slovakia in the end of June, I will be able to buy my OWN scanner and my OWN printer and some new stuff for scrapbooking.... Can't WAIT to be doing what I really love! Hope this sacrifice is worth it :-) And can't wait to become a surface pattern designer!!!

SURFACE PATTERN DESING and more updates

It's been a long time I didn't blog. I have been busy these days, working, creating an 8x8 album for a friend, seeing friends...or just being lazy :) But the main reason Ididn't have time to blog is that I have started an e-course about surface pattern design! That is the most exciting part! I feel like I've finally found what I really want to do! Like I have finally a dream, something I want to reach, something that kids say they want to become when they grow up... Oh yeah, after YEARS of looking for something I would love to do in my life, after YEARS of doing so many different jobs in order to find the right one (oh, I did babysitting, receptionist, cleaning, shop assistant, translater, I even gave piano lessons :-D) I can officialy tell you that 

I want to become a surface pattern designer! :) 

(and I hope I will not change my mind this time, hehe)

Well, we have only started the third week of the course, but I'm loving it so much! It feels like it has always been there, it just took me long time to discover it. We've been sketching a lot, here are some of my first pictures of my sketchbook and the sketches that are pretty simple as I am only a beginner :
